Hostel Mondpalast

Hostel Mondpalast offers a variety of spacious rooms, all designed according to the different signs of the zodiac. There is a wide choice from single rooms to 10-bed dormitories. Some of the private small rooms have their own shower / WC. The beds are already made. Best of all, the hostel has its own bar! After the nightcap, its just one floor up to fall into your comfy bed.

The hostel is located in the heart of Dresden's lively trendy district (the "Neustadt"). All pubs and some clubs are located in the vicinity. After going out in the evening, it is never far to your cozy bed. It only takes a few minutes to reach the beautiful banks of the Elbe and you can reach the impressive, historic old town and almost all attractions in 20 - 30 minutes on foot or in 10 - 15 minutes by tram. In addition, you can explore the great surroundings of Dresden: Meissen, the castles Moritzburg and Pillnitz and the "Saxon Switzerland", a small, very beautiful national park and a true paradise for climbers and hikers!

Felt very safe as a solo female knowing there’s 24/7 reception and that the hostel’s in a lively area. Good location for those who enjoy “alternative” districts and living a little further away (~20min door-to-door from hostel to Zwinger) from touristy areas. Bedrooms were clean and everything functioned. Floor 1 shower sinks seemed to have some mould issues but generally clean; some WCs had some ventilation issues. Staff’s very friendly and helpful. Would recommend if in Dresden for a few days!

had such an amazing time staying at mondpalast! the staff is super cool and always ready to help or just have a nice chat. also shoutout to the german girl who’s volunteering there, she’s lovely! love the free tea and coffee and how clean and comfortable everything is and having a bar on sight is so handy to get the night started! will definitely be back, specially in the summer when there’s more travelers and more people to socialize with!

Lovely staff, great vibes in the common area (there was a pub quiz on the day we arrived, and a list of all shows and concerts in the area pinned to the wall). Made me want to stay longer in the city - there were so many ideas for traveling in the area available. The room felt safe, and the facilities were clean and tidy.

Bezüglich der Heizung: Du kannst diese selbst steuern. Sie schaltet sich zu bestimmten Uhrzeiten ab, um Energie zu sparen, wenn das Zimmer nicht genutzt wird. Für ein Hostel sehr gut. Service ist spitzenmäßig und sehr offen und freundlich. Für Gäste gibt es Kaffee fast rund um die Uhr kostenlos. Wo hat man so was noch heut zu Tage. Ambiente ist gemütlich und urig. Kann ich weiter empfehlen. Wenn man wieder in der Gegend dort ist würde ich wieder dort einkehren

Its a good place in dresden neudstat which is the more culturally part of dresden ig. Staff were wonderful. I dint remember her name but she had glasses and red hair, she was so incredibly kind and welcoming. I was prob a bit unlucky with my mates, prob because of low season. Not really any social people. NOT the hostels fault at all though! It hosted for locals to come which made me feel its more a stay for locals than internationals tbh. overall good, decent facilities in form of shower wc!

Ein großes Dankeschön an Fabian und Melina (wenn ich mir die Namen richtig gemerkt habe 😊😅) für den entspannten Check in und Checkout.Die Gespräche waren super nett, das Frühstück lecker auch mal vegan und vegetarisch auszuprobieren.Die ganze Atmosphäre total gemütlich und entspannt man hat sich einfach wie zu Hause gefühlt.Die Zimmer waren sauber und liebevoll gestaltet. Besonders im Gedächtnis geblieben sind mir Pac-Man und Mario auf meiner Etage ein richtig cooles Detail und ein echter Hingucker.🤩Es war eine tolle Erfahrung die ich machen durfte, mal mit 5 weiteren Leuten in einem Zimmer zu schlafen, und ich bin unendlich dankbar, dort gewesen zu seinEs hat mich auf jeden Fall positiv überrascht und Ich Freu mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch im Mondpalast egal ob im Hostel oder an der Bar ich komm wieder.🍀

An sich ein cooles Hostel mitten im Kiez von Drrsden ... was ein Vor- und leider auch ein Nachteil ist, wenn man schlafen möchte. Draußen auf der Straße war es leider bis 3 Uhr nachts sehr laut und im Hostel selber wurden nonstop die Türen zu geschlagen. Menschen mit leichtem Schlaf werden hier am Wochenende kein Auge zu machen können.🥲 Ansonsten super freundlicher Service, gemütliche Bar und das Frühstück ist gut mit vielen veganen Optionen 🙂

Und natürlich sind gerade am Wochenende auch die Hostelgäste selbst noch zu späterer Stunde unterwegs. Ich verstehe, dass das nicht für Jeden geeignet ist. Leider wurde mir eine Reise in Rechnung gestellt, die ich rechtzeitig storniert hatte. Über Hostelworld.
Hallo Marcel, es tut mir sehr leid, dass du dich ungerecht behandelt fühlst. Deine Kritik ist sicherlich berechtigt, sollte aber nicht an uns als Hostel (sprich Leistungsträger), sondern an Hostelworld (dein Vertragspartner) gehen. Wir haben keine Möglichkeit, Buchungen von anderen Anbietern zu stornieren. Das wäre ein Vertragsbruch von unserer Seite. Da bei uns keine Stornierung deiner Buchung einging, bist du für uns einfach nicht erschienen und das führt dann natürlich zu Stornierungsgebühren. Ich hoffe, du hast dafür Verständnis, dass wir an der Stelle keine andere Wahl hatten. Bitte wende dich an Hostelworld, um herauszufinden, warum deine Stornierung über deren Plattform nicht funktioniert hat. Ich wünsche dir alles Gute. Hier sitzt man auch 1 Stunde am Tisch, bevor ein Kellner kommt und mitteilt, er kommt gleich und kommen tut dann niemand, da gehen wir lieber woanders hin.

Da wir aber auch ein Hostel sind, kann es durchaus passieren, dass die zuständige Person einmal mit einem Check-In beschäftigt ist, sodass es zu längeren Wartezeiten kommen kann.
